Please follow these guidelines to ensure a safe, reliable installation.

Step 1. Find a power supply

Find the vehicle's battery. For hybrid or electric vehicles, use the auxiliary battery and not the high-voltage battery. If you are unsure, refer to the manual.

Step 2. Pick a mounting location

Suitable mounting locations are based on the battery location and whether the device should be hidden from view - options include on top of the battery, under the trim below the windscreen, or the windscreen corner (the last option is not suitable for the GT107, FMM230 and FMC230 devices).

Installation tips:

- Avoid mounting the device under metal or close to other electronic components

- Do not mount on hot surfaces or moving parts such as windscreen wipers

- Position the device's logo towards the sky

- Try to be consistent with your mounting locations across your fleet

Step 3. Prepare the area
Ensure the cables comfortably reach the power source and are protected from being pinched or damaged.

Clean and dry the mounting location using the supplied cleansing wipe.

Step 4. Mount the device

Loosen the terminal connections and connect the black wire to the factory chassis ground or negative (-) terminal, and the red wire to the positive (+) terminal. Any additional wires are not used in the installation.

Firmly stick the device in place and tidy any cabling with the zip ties provided.

Once connected, the LED will blink for several minutes. When it stops, the device is ready. It may take up to an hour for the first location to register on your platform. If no update occurs, contact ABAX support.

Step 5. Register the device
Find the device's serial number in the ABAX Admin app and enter any relevant details.

No app access? Setup can be completed later in the web platform by an Admin. For now, note the serial number, date, time, and other relevant details such as name, make, model, Reg. No and mileage.
