Please follow these guidelines to ensure a safe, reliable installation.
Step 1. Pick a mounting location
Depending on your device and vehicle, there are 3 possible connection types: USB, USB via a 12V adapter or the OBDII port.
Installation tips:
- Avoid placing the device beneath metal or near electronics like an infotainment screen or charging pad
- Ensure the device does not interfere with the driver's ability to operate the vehicle
- Use only the cables provided - using alternatives may void your warranty
Step 2. Prepare the area
Ensure the cables comfortably reach the power source and are protected from being pinched or damaged.
Clean and dry the mounting location using the supplied cleansing wipe.
Step 3. Mount the device
Connect the device and stick it firmly in place (if applicable).
Once connected, the LED will blink for several minutes. When it stops, the device is ready. It may take up to an hour for the first location to register on your platform. If no update occurs, contact ABAX support.
We recommend keeping the device connected at all times.
Step 4. Register the device
Find the device's serial number in the ABAX Admin app and enter any relevant details.
No app access? Setup can be completed later in the web platform by an Admin. For now, note the serial number, date, time, and other relevant details such as name, make, model, Reg. No and mileage.
